KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal now available in South Africa

With the launch of KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal, or Binchotan, residents of South Africa can now revive an ancient and organic Japanese water purifying technique in their homes. Tap water can be naturally and easily transformed through a completely eco-friendly purification process, free of plastics and costly cartridges that have to be constantly replaced and disposed of.

Eco-friendly, economical, reusable and recyclable, KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal not only purifies ordinary tap water by adsorbing toxins (such as Lead, Mercury, Copper, Iron and Chlorine) and enriching it with beneficial minerals (Calcium and Magnesium) – but also softens the water by balancing pH, removes odours and improves flavour so that you can notice the difference in every sip.

KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal comes in hand-cut sticks that are quickly activated through 10-minute boiling before each one is added to 2 litres of tap water. The purification begins working immediately, however the water should stand in the fridge or on the kitchen counter for three hours or more to enable KURO-Bō to do its purifying work; ideally eight hours or overnight. After up to three months of daily use, KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal is then recyclable in a number of eco-friendly, versatile ways including as a deodoriser, a dehumidifier or as a biochar.

KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal is brand new to South Africa and a completely unique product; now available to order online, nationally, for only R215 per stick, at www.kuro-bo.com

About KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal

Centuries ago, artisans in the Japanese region of Wakayama, perfected the art of creating Binchōtan – a unique activated charcoal. Involving a meticulous production process, Binchotan is still highly prized today across the US, Europe and Asia as a highly effective air and water purifier, as well as a clean burning, high temperature fuel for cooking and an organic soil enricher.

Faithful to the ancient Japanese process, KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal is derived from sustainably-sourced, high quality hardwood which is baked in a special kiln, and then hand-cut. Unlike other water purification systems, KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal does not aggressively strip the water, removing both the good with the bad. Tests have shown that the charcoal significantly reduces levels of lead, copper, mercury, iron, aluminium, manganese and all traces of chlorine from tap water. At the same time, it uniquely and naturally enriches the water with beneficial minerals, that other leading filtration systems remove entirely.
